Adamawa State Governor, the Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has reviewed the curfew declared across the State in the wake of the looting of items at the Government Warehouses last Sunday.

The curfew has now been relaxed in 17 Local Government Areas with the exception of the twin councils of Yola North, Yola South, Girei and Numan where the curfew will continue to run from 6:00pm to 6:00am daily, and will subsist till further notice. Security operatives will therefore remain in the affected councils to enforce the new directive with a view to further maintaining law and order.

The new directive according to the Governor follows the return of peace and the advice of the state security council.

Governor Fintiri noted that “The curfew was never declared to inflict hardship on our people in the first instance, but to protect them and return normalcy to the affected areas.”

While commending citizens and residents for their show of understanding and cooperation so far, the Governor enjoined the citizenry to always channel their grievances to the appropriate authorities and resist the temptation of taking law into their own hands.
