Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba on Monday promised to provide adequate security for members of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) posted in remote areas in the state.
Ishaku made the statement at the Closing Ceremony of 2019 Batch B Stream two Orientation Course in Jalingo.
The governor, who was represented by Mr Simon Angyu, Head of Service of the state said that the welfare of the corps members was one of his major priority.
He also advised the corps to impact positively on their host communities.
“I urge all to accept your posting in good faith and report promptly to your places of primary assignment.
“Endeavor to be promoters of peace and progress in the communities where you will find yourselves.
“Live an examplary life so as to exhact positive influence on the people around you especially now that our nation needs people that will promote positive virtues.
“My government will do all that is required to guarantee the welfare and security of all Corps members serving in the nooks and crannies of the state’, He added.
Earlier, Mrs Florence Yaakugh, State Coordinator of the NYSC urged members to live up to the the mandate of the corps.
Yaakugh also advised them to work towards becoming employers of labour and advocate of peace wherever they go.
She said that the service had dispatched 1400 corps members to their places of primary assignment.
She however, said that corps members were posted to all local government areas except Ibi due to insecurity problem.
She commended the state government for is constant support to the service.
She also commended all the collaborating partners such as Nigerian Arny, Police, Department of State Services among others.
