Gov. Darius Ishaku, the Executive Governor of Taraba State has perfected plans to use a combination of Nigeria Army with other security agencies in the state to launch massive attacks on Tiv communities in Southern part of the state.
Mr Aondona Katyo, leader of Taraba Tiv Youths Forum issued the statement on Thursday to newsmen in Jalingo.
Katyo said that the puported composition of the joint security patrol to stem the tide of kidnappings and armed banditory in the area was basically an instruction to them to massively attack Tiv communities under it’s guise.
“We have good information that the governor has induced the security agencies to massively attack the few remaining Tiv communities starting from Donga to Takum Local Governments. Mr.
It is alledged that, “Heavy moneys were given to the army commander who paid him a courtesy call in Government House with an understanding to do his bidding. ” The Chairman of Donga local government who also visited the troops stationed in Akate, a Jukun community ìn Donga Local Government Area, was to convey the directives on the matter.
“We are watching and ready to take the matter up to even the world court in an event their plan is effected.
“We are calling on the Army high command to beam it’s search light on the activities of this currently posted Special Forces and caution it’s personnel in operation not to compromise it standards for financial inducement from Gov. Ishaku.
“We also call on other security agencies involved in the deal to withdraw from such a nasty arrangement, otherwise, they will be exposed like in the Wadume case in Ibi. We are monitoring all activities with the view to justifying our onward agitations against injustice on Tiv communities in Southern Taraba State.
