Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has expressed condolences to the government and people of Borno State following the devastating flood in Maiduguri, announcing a N100 million donation from the state government.
Represented by Secretary to the State Government, Mallam Abubakar Nakwada, Governor Lawal expressed deep shock and sympathy over the flood. Nakwada announced the donation as a gesture of solidarity and support.
“On behalf of the people and Government of Zamfara State, I wish to express our deepest sympathy for the recent devastating flood resulting from the overflow of water from the Alu Dam in Maiduguri,” Nakwada said. He noted that the government and people of Zamfara state were profoundly saddened by reports that over one million people have been displaced by the catastrophic event.

“The magnitude of this disaster is truly heart-wrenching. The thoughts and prayers of the people of Zamfara State—who have faced similar catastrophes, though on a much smaller scale in recent times—are with our brothers and sisters in the affected families and communities,” Nakwada stressed.
