Gov Zulum Signs ₦615.8 Billion 2025 Budget Into Law

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has signed the 2025 appropriation bill into law, approving a total budget of ₦615.857 billion. The signing ceremony was held today at the council chambers of the Government House in Maiduguri.

The budget, initially proposed on December 9, 2024, at ₦584.76 billion, underwent deliberations by the Borno State House of Assembly before being revised to the current figure. The adjustment underscores the assembly’s commitment to advancing the state’s recovery and development agenda.

Governor Zulum stated that the budget aligns with his administration’s strategic goals, including enhancing infrastructure, education, healthcare, and social welfare while fostering economic growth and stability in Borno State. He expressed gratitude to the assembly members for their diligence in reviewing and approving the budget.

The 2025 budget is expected to strengthen efforts in rebuilding communities affected by insurgency, boosting agricultural productivity, and expanding opportunities for youth and women empowerment across the state.

“This budget represents our collective resolve to continue building a resilient and prosperous Borno State. Every naira allocated is meant to address critical areas that will improve the lives of our people,” Governor Zulum remarked during the ceremony.

With the signing of the budget, implementation is set to commence, focusing on delivering impactful projects and services across the state.
