In a statement issued on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the Governor said the rumour was the handiwork of mischief makers bent on tarnishing the image of his administration and creating unnecessary panic among parents, teachers and students.

“At no point did the government direct schools to close, and we have no intention of doing so. This malicious rumour is the work of enemies of the administration who are spreading false information and causing chaos in the state,” the statement read in part.

Governor Fintiri urged members of the public, particularly parents and school administrators, to disregard the fake reports and allow academic activities to continue uninterrupted.

“Schools should continue with academic activities as usual,” he stressed.

The Governor warned that the administration will no longer tolerate acts capable of undermining its ongoing efforts to reposition the education sector, vowing to deal decisively with anyone found spreading false information.

“We will not hesitate to take decisive action against enemies of this administration who are spreading false information and causing chaos in the state. We warn those behind this to desist immediately or face the full weight of the law,” he said.

Governor Fintiri reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming education in Adamawa State, noting that significant progress has already been recorded in infrastructure upgrade, teacher welfare and provision of learning materials.

He reassured citizens that the government remains focused on making Adamawa a hub of educational excellence and called for continued support and cooperation from all stakeholders.
