The Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency has received the prestigious Award of Excellence for its outstanding achievements in providing quality water supply at Primary Health Care facilities and communities.
The award was presented at the 2024 International Conference on Water, held in Abuja, with the theme “Beyond Access, Quality Matters”.
He attributed the success to the Governor’s strong political will and unwavering support for the health sector,
Dr. Sulaiman Saidu Bashir, Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency, accepted the award on behalf of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri CON. He attributed the success to the Governor’s strong political will and unwavering support for the health sector, a top priority of his administration.
The Agency’s achievements were made possible through the collaborative efforts of partner organizations, including UNICEF, IRC, ICRC, and others, which provided infrastructure and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) mechanisms. These efforts ensured the continued functioning of the infrastructure despite repeated breakdowns due to overuse by communities.
Dr. Bashir commended the dedication of PHC workers, Ward development committee members, and community leaders for their tireless efforts in maintaining the infrastructure and ensuring access to quality water supply.
This award is a testament to Governor Fintiri’s commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Adamawa State citizens, and demonstrates the effectiveness of his administration’s efforts to prioritize the health sector.
