Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has settled $247,235.84 (₦407.9 million) in outstanding tuition fees for state-sponsored students studying abroad, resolving a financial burden that had stranded many students. The payment covers fees owed to foreign universities by the previous administration (2021-2023) and includes all foreign tuition fees for Kaduna-sponsored students from 2023 to the present.

The beneficiaries, primarily students of Medicine and Nursing, were previously unable to continue their studies due to unpaid fees.
According to Professor Yahya Saleh Ibrahim, Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board, the cleared fees span institutions such as Debrecen University (UK/Hungary), University of Wollongong (Dubai), Medical University Havana, and KIU IUIU (Uganda).
Governor Sani also directed the Board to conduct a comprehensive assessment of all foreign universities hosting Kaduna-sponsored students to identify and address any remaining unpaid fees, ensuring no student is left stranded.
This decisive action highlights the governor’s dedication to education, human capital development, and supporting underprivileged students, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to empowering the next generation of professionals from Kaduna State.
