Govt That Fails to Protect Citizens Doesn’t Deserve to Remain in Power, Says Senate Chief Whip Mungonu

In a scathing rebuke of the current administration, Senator Mohammed Monguno, the All Progressives Congress (APC) representative for Borno North, has declared that any government that fails to ensure the safety and security of its citizens does not deserve to remain in power.

His comments come amidst growing concerns over the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria, particularly in the northeastern region plagued by insurgency and violence.

During a recent press conference, Senator Monguno expressed his discontent with President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima’s handling of critical security issues. “Our people are suffering; they are living in fear, and the government’s inability to protect them is unacceptable,” he stated, emphasizing the urgent need for effective governance and accountability.
