Former Heads of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon and Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, have poured encomiums on former Military President, Ibrahim Babangida, at the launch of his autobiography, ‘A Journey In Service’, in Abuja today.
You did quite a lot for the country
Gen. Gowon recounted his tumultuous experience in government, revealing that he was charged with treason, but Babangida later restored his rank and honor. He praised Babangida for his contributions to the country, saying “you did quite a lot for the country.”
On his part, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar hailed Babangida’s friendship and brotherhood, which spans over 80 years, and expressed gratitude for the smiles their escapades bring to their faces. The book launch, which was attended by several dignitaries, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former presidents, and other high-profile guests, is a significant event in Nigeria’s literary landscape.
The autobiography is expected to provide a unique insight into Babangida’s life and experiences as a military leader, and his role in shaping Nigeria’s history.
