The National Youth Coalition “Fintiri for 2023” on Saturday urged Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa state to immediately without delay appoint the chairman governing council, Adamawa state University Mubi in replacement for Bashir Ahmad.
The group said this in a statement signed by its president, Mustapha Aliyu.
Bashir Ahmad the group said has mistaken his arrogance for principle as any occupant of the office of the SSG must possess the quality of being accessible to the public and one that has full knowledge of the office that will put the government of Fintiri into right policy direction.
Mr Mustapha said the group is currently in deep shock as despite spending almost one and some months, Bashir Ahmad could not map out any policy direction for the current administration”.
”We are not surprised that Bashir Ahmad has mistaken his arrogance for principle, what is a principle in ridiculing people and making an unguarded statement in political gathering? Awwal Tukur is down to earth which a common is more comfortable to talk with than Bashir Ahmad.
Bashir Ahmad was sleeping when Fintiri was campaigning and begging electorates in the 21 local governments, if not how can he probably be displaying the character of lord of the manor,” he said.
The NYCF said it hoped governor Fintiri will think 2023 and do the needful instead of pleasing some friends who have no electoral value or that cannot lead their family to polling units to vote for the governor in 2023.
It added that anything short of replacing Bashir Ahmad with Awwal Tukur as SSG will be ”rejected by the group”.
