Suspected gunmen on Wednesday midnight attacked the Toru-Orua residence of former Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state, killing a policeman.
It was learnt that the assailants invaded Dickson’s compound through the Forcados River on Wednesday night.
The slain policeman was part of security details guarding the former Bayelsa governor’s home. The policeman who was shot and wounded by the gunmen was said to have died on the spot.
Bayelsa State Police Command said it would come up with a detailed statement on the incident later.
