GUNMEN REPULSED: Army, Police Foil Attack on Adamawa Community

A daring attack by unknown gunmen on the Garaha community in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State was repelled by the combined efforts of the military, police, and local vigilantes. The village head, Mr. Dauda Istakis, confirmed that the gunmen stormed the village around 12:15 am, shooting sporadically for about 40 minutes.

However, the swift response of the Nigerian Army, police, and local vigilantes chased the attackers away, preventing massive destruction and loss of lives. The exchange of gunfire between the army and the gunmen brought calmness to the community, securing it from potential harm.

Mr. Istakis praised the military, armed vigilantes, and police for their bravery and proactiveness, which he believes saved the entire community. He also thanked the state and federal governments for prioritizing security, noting that his community has faced repeated attacks from Boko Haram, bandits, kidnappers, and ISWAP operatives.

The community leader conducted a thorough search of the area from the time of the attack to 5:00 am and confirmed that there were no casualties. The foiled attack is a testament to the effectiveness of the security agencies in protecting vulnerable communities from terrorist threats.
