A business tycoon from Adamawa Northern Senatorial District, Mallam Hamisu Idris Medugu, has commiserated with Prof Iya Abubakar, who lost his wife, Ummu, in Abuja after a protracted illness.
Hamisu, in a condolence message, mourned Ummu, a woman he described as a heartthrob of the first Northern Nigerian to become a Professor of Mathematics at a very young age and serve the people of the zone as a Senator.

He said Ummu’s death is heartbreaking to him and the entire people of Adamawa Northern Senatorial District and the State at large, having left a fulfilled Life to support Senator Iya Abubakar in all his academic and political journeys.
He enjoined the Nonserving senator to take solace in God, who is the giver and taker of life, and prayed that Ummu’s soul rest in Aljannatur Firdausi in the life thereafter.
Ummu, whose funeral rites will take place by 1 pm at the Abuja national mosque, Hamisu prayed that the immediate family of Ummu and the entire Adamawa take consolation in God.
“I and the entire family have joined others in commiserating one of our leaders who is a nationalist, a democratic, and an educationist, Senator Iya Abubakar, at the moment is bereaved as a result of his wife’s death.
“I send my prayers of consolation, consoling him to take heart for the simple fact that”every living soul must taste death,” Hamisu said
