Hardship: Police arrest Man for climbing 330kv high-tension Tower to end his life

A youngster, Abdullahi Muhammed, 30 years old, an indegine of Gashaka LGA, Taraba State was arrested by operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command for attempting to commit suicide.

According to a statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, that the suspect was arrested on the 29th September, 2024 in of Mayo-Belwa town of Mayo-Belwa LGA for attempting to commit the act.

SP Nguroje explained that the suspect had climbed a 330KV High Tension Tower electricity pole along Yola-Jalingo highway and vowed to kill himself.

The statement further said: “Responding to the report, the Commissioner of Police deployed operatives of the Command attached to Divisional police Headquarters, Mayo-Belwa to the scene of the incident.

“Luckily, he was rescued and taken into protective custody. He is currently being investigated and will be charged to court for attempting to commit suicide”.

SP Nguroje renewed Commitment of the Command to protect lives including self-harm and property.

Abdullahi was said to have climbed the high tension because of hardship is currently passing through in Life.

According to him, he decided to end up his because there’s no help coming to alleviate him from the hardship is going through.
