The former secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Engr Babachir David Lawal during an interview with Arise TV accessing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s one year in office blasted him to have assembled cabinets of people that will practice the ‘Emilekun’ economy.
Lawal said the caliber of people appointed as Minister are hired to do the bidding of Tinubu of “it’s my turn government”.
According to him Tinubu did what he did because it’s his turn not necessarily he want to serve Nigerians . A sense of entitlement not really he has the knowledge to serve the country.
“If you find yourself in the ministry is your turn, it’s not the turn of the Nigerian masses,he assembled likes minds that’s why we find ourselves in this mess. It’s a self centered government, government of individual interest.” Lawal said
He said the government has failed Nigerians, and right from the onset he is expecting anything else more than what he seeing and is vindicated from the position he took in working against him.
He argued that he didn’t believe Tinubu won the election because right from the onset he made it clear they will not win.
“The position I took to work against Tinubu has been justified. I felt victorious and Justified that all what I said if the Muslim Muslim ticket sail through.” He said
He said Tinubu knew is not going to win and they had to go roque, break all the rules enshrined in democracy and electoral processes be in power for their personal gains.
“Tinubu colluded with those that have only interest to rule Nigeria by all means over and above our heads wether we like it or not.” He added
Babachir during the interview he accused American government for agreeing to the wrong path APC took to be in power in one of their report.
“Most times international politics they want their own person there , somebody they can tweak to do their own bit. This government ministers most of their families are resident of United States of America, some with duo citizenship . So it will serve American very well if some of these people have taken over Nigeria.” He stated
Babachir in an open show of attack criticized Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s leadership approach.
He characterized Tinubu’s demeanor as having an “I know everything” mindset, which he viewed as a notable personality defect.
Lawal expanded on his observations, highlighting that although Tinubu is recognized as a skilled strategist, his excessive confidence and belief in his own abilities have caused him to make flawed decisions.
Lawal suggested that Tinubu’s overestimation of his capabilities has particularly affected his ability to make significant decisions.
According to him, “I always say this; I’m sorry to say this, but I will repeat it. The personality of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is that ‘I know it all.
“This is his character flaw. He knows it; he’s smart; he thinks he’s smart; he’s intelligent; they call him a master strategist, and from my own personal knowledge of him, that was what drove that possibility and that outcome, and now it has been shown that he has failed in his evaluation of his own capabilities for taking such huge decisions.
“If he had that competence, and if this cabinet has the competence, even after he has done that, they have had sufficient time to work out mitigating strategies.”
