HEALTH CARE AWARD: ADAMAWA EMERGES BEST STATE IN THE NORTH EAST

Adamawa state government as today honoured with an award as the best performing state in Key Maternal, Newborn and Child Health indicators in the entire North East region of the country.

The governor of Adamawa State, Sen Mohammed Umar Jibrilla, personally received the award which was was presented by Vice President Yeah Osinbajo, in a well attended ceremony at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Centre, in Abuja.

The award, which is third in the series, is organised annually by THISDAY Newspaper/Federal Ministry of Health supported by the Wolrd Bank and other partners.

Adamawa State was among 8 states that made it to the final stage following a painstaking process carried out by the Fedra Ministry of Health under its innovative Saving One Million Lives Programme-For-Results.

In a brief remark, the Governor of Adamawa State, Sen Mohammed Umar Jibrilla, expressed gratitude for the recognition.

He noted that, “to be recognised among eight states is a strong indication that his administration is poised to deliver on her mandate to provide better health care to her citizens”.
