Heba Orthography: It’s a testament to our community’s strength, determination”-Pharm. Jesse

The launching of Heba Orthography is a significant step towards promoting indigenous language education in Adamawa State, with Heba language becoming the first to be taught at primary and secondary levels.

The Chief launcher of the first official document, Pharmacy Jesse Chidima (Garkuwan Dugwaba) said “this orthography represents our collective heritage, Culture and resilience. It’s a testament to our community’s strength and determination”.

Represented by Principal Special Assistant to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Budget, Prince Hon. Herbert Rufus Hanawa commended youths of Heba land for their enthusiasm and unwavering support to actualize the project.
“Let’s us celebrate, preserve, and promote our language, ensuring its vibrancy for generations to come,” he added.

He thanked the leadership of Heba Language Development Association for considering him worthy to be Chief launcher of the occasion, saying “as I reflect on my journey, I’m reminded of my humble beginnings. Growing up in abject poverty, attending school in Garaha Village, I have never dreamed that I’d be recognised by my community with such a significant task”.

Hanawa also revealed that Pharmacy Jesse Chidima had trained and empowered over 600 youths in different skills to make them self-reliant and contribute to economy development of the country.
meanwhile, twelve million, six hundred and fifty nine thousand naira (₦12,659,000:00) was realised during the launching including cash and pledges with highest donation from the Chief launcher.
