HERDSMEN /FARMERS CLASHES:ADAMAWA GOVT. INAUGURATE COMMISSION OF INQUIRY.

Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow has inaugurate the newly established Commission of Inquiry  to investigate the Numan and Demsa crisis and proffer lasting solutions

According to him, the primary responsibility of government is to secure the lives and properties of its citizens.

“It is for this reason therefore, that this government after consulting all relevant stakeholders including security agencies and traditional rulers decided to invoke its powers under the Commission of Inquiry Law (CAP34 ) of 1997 to institute this commission of inquiry, He stated

Bindow, who was represented by his Deputy Governor Martin Nasir Babale, tasked the commission to ascertain the extend of damages to lives and properties, and also advise government on curbing future occurrences. 

Babale maintained that government is committed to ensuring that the report of this commission is faithfully implemented.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Commission, Justice Adamu Hobon (Rtd), promised to carry out the assignment, in accordance with the terms and reference, to justify the confidence repose in them.

“We are aware that the Federal Government and the Government of Adamawa are very much disturbed by the incessant communal clashes, we are also aware that from now onward, the attention and focus of government  and the society is on this committee, we cannot afford to under-mind the target set for this committee”, He stated.

While soliciting for  the support of the general public, the chairman urged the media to report correctly the activities of the committee when the need arises.
