The National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA) has donated assorted drugs worth N42 million naira to Adamawa government for victims of recent herdsmen and farmers crisis.
Mr Abani Imam , the agency’s head of operation in charge of Adamawa and Taraba states presented the items on Wednesday in Yola.
Imam said that the donation was part of federal government intervention to compliment states’ government effort toward treatment of victims of the crisis.
“On behalf of the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo the Agency is presenting a total of 83 different assorted drugs worth N 42 million naira to Adamawa Government.
” The intervention is meant for the victims of the recent Herdsmen and Farmers crisis and other related conflicts across the state” Imam said.
He urged the state government to judiciously used the drugs in order to reach those meant for.
Responding on behalf of the state government, Mr Martins Babale, the Deputy Governor of the state thanked the federal government for the gesture.
Babale said that the donation came at aright time when the state government was suffering in handling of thousands of Internally Displaced Persons as a result of the unrest.
He confirmed that state government had established three IDPs camps in Mayo Belwa, Demsa and Numan LGAs.
