In a stirring address titled “Hold the Line – The Heart of APC Must Not Fail,” Senator Ahmed Abubakar MoAllahyidi, convener and chairman of the “Adamawa State CPC Block (in APC) Reunion,” urged party faithful to stand united amid challenging times. The event, held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Muna Hotel in Jimeta Yola, brought together grassroots leaders and stalwarts of the All-Progressive Congress (APC) from across Adamawa State.
Speaking with palpable passion, Senator MoAllahyidi, a member of the 8th Senate and a key figure in the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) faction that merged into the APC, greeted the audience as “the heartbeat of our great movement” and “faithful foot soldiers.” He emphasized the pivotal role of the CPC Block, declaring, “You are the backbone of the APC. Without you, there is no movement. Without you, there is no victory. Without you, there is no APC.”
Reflecting on the CPC Block’s legacy under former President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015 to 2023, MoAllahyidi highlighted landmark achievements that he argued have been underappreciated.

These include infrastructure projects like the Mayo-Belwa-Jada-Ganye-Tungo and Mubi-Vimtim-Michika roads, the rehabilitation of Lamido Aliyu Mustapha International Airport in Yola, and railway revivals such as the Abuja-Kaduna and Lagos-Ibadan lines.
He also pointed to anti-corruption measures like the Treasury Single Account (TSA), economic initiatives like the Anchor Borrowers’ Program, and social investment programs such as N-Power and the Home-Grown School Feeding Program.
The senator acknowledged the current hardships under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, admitting, “Yes, we are going through hard times. Times when promises seem delayed. Times when people ask questions that are hard to answer.”
True change never comes easy
Yet, he framed these challenges as part of a transformative process, urging patience and unity. “True change never comes easy,” he said. “The same way you plant a seed, water it, wait, and trust — we must trust the process of the reforms being undertaken.”
MoAllahyidi warned against internal division, cautioning that the opposition is “watching — waiting, hoping for our disunity.” He rallied the crowd, which included state and local government chairmen, youth leaders, women mobilizers, and community champions, to “hold the line” and preserve the APC’s legacy.
“If we leave the house we built with our own hands, who will inherit it?” he asked. “If we walk away now, what do we tell those who followed us with hope in their hearts?”
A key theme of his speech was the preservation of the rotational presidency between Nigeria’s North and South, which he described as essential for “fairness and equity.”

He also called for active engagement with Tinubu’s reforms to ensure they benefit the common man, promising, “Slowly, surely — the economy will find its feet again, creating jobs and enhancing living conditions.”
The senator concluded with a heartfelt thank-you to the grassroots leaders, assuring them, “You are not forgotten. You are not alone. And you will not be left behind.” He urged them to “keep the fire burning” and maintain faith in the APC as “a movement, a family, a legacy” that must carry Nigeria into a brighter future.
The reunion underscored the CPC Block’s enduring influence within the APC and served as a clarion call for unity and resilience. As Senator MoAllahyidi reaffirmed his unshaken commitment to the party, the event left attendees energized to face the challenges ahead, with hope as their guiding light.
