I write in respect to a statement credited to one identified as the chairman of Zamfara APC Concerned Youth Movement, Abubakar Ibrahim Gusau, and made available to journalists in Abuja in which he alleged that one of the protesters asking the EFCC to reopen investigation into alleged misappropriation of more than N70 billion against the former governor of Zamfara state now minister of State, Bello Matawalle told him that they were hired by Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji, member representing Birnin Magaji/Kauran Namoda Federal Constituency in Zamfara State.
In his statement, he went further to even accuse Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji of liaising with Governor Dauda Lawal Dare to denigrate the person of Bello Matawalle and incredibly credited the success of Bola Tinubu in the general election in Zamfara state solely to Bello Matawalle – this is unbelievable and incredible.
If not that I know the person was talking in proxy – a stooge of Bello Matawalle, I wouldn’t have responded to a political nonentity who is all out to seek for notice. But because it’s his paymaster who is helter skelter trying to correct and cover his illicit political betrayal against the person of Mr. President doing so by proxy. But one good thing is that President Ahmad Bola Tinubu knows who stood by him firmed and those who betrayed him when he dire needed them most. And for the benefit of the generality of the people, let’s go back memory lane and retrospect the politicking and political dispensation that led to where we are today with a view to refreshing our memory.
When Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji was/ had been the Director of Presidential Campaign Committee in the North-West where he engaged a lot of his personal resources, travelled all over the country canvassing support for Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Bello Matawalle was going against the candidature of President Ahmad Bola Tinubu thinking that he would not win the election.
Former governor Bello Matawalle not only didn’t support Ahmad Bola Tinubu during the election, but also fought him cat and dog to make sure he didn’t succeed. When President Bola Tinubu bought APC nomination form looking for Governors to endorse their signatures for him, Governor Bello Matawalle didn’t only not sign for him, but went ahead and cajoled some of the northern governors not to sign for Ahmad Bola Tinubu. That’s how he went ahead without the endorsement of some of them – courtesy, Bello Matawalle. All in his display of his hatred towards President Bola Tinubu. Now who’s the true lover of President Ahmad Bola Tinubu between Aminu Sani Jaji and Bello Matawalle?
When President Bola Tinubu won the primary election of APC and became their flag bearer, Governor Bello Matawalle as APC governor didn’t support and work for the APC/Bola Tinubu, he went back to his original party, PDP and worked for it. He preferred to work for his former boss, Atiku Abubakar the Presidential flag bearer of PDP to his party, APC, because of Bola Tinubu. It is there in the record that he gave Atiku Abubakar N50 million campaign donation to fight the APC/Bola Tinubu. This was made known when former governor of Zamfara state paid him (Atiku) a condolence visit, he asked the former governor and former deputy governor of Zamfara state who was among the entourage to extend his (Atiku) appreciation to Governor Bello Matawalle for given him N50 million campaign donation. If he could give him 50 million donation before Atiku wins primary election, only God knows how much he gave him after he won the primary election of PDP and became their flag bearer. Between Aminu Sani Jaji and Bello Matawalle who’s the true lover of President Bola Tinubu?
When President Ahmad Bola Tinubu was going round the country to meet with the delegates before primary election, Governor Bello Matawalle made sure he didn’t meet with Zamfara delegates because he didn’t want him to see and convince them to vote for him. President Bola Tinubu went to the primary election without meeting Zamfara state delegates because Governor Bello Matawalle blocked him from seeing and meeting them. It is there in record.
In his philanthropic nature as he’s, President Ahmad Bola Tinubu went to some states where the banditry activities were rampant then, among them is Kaduna. He donated N50 million to the victims of banditry in Kaduna State. And when he went to Zamfara state, he equally donated the sum of N50 million to the victims of banditry, but Governor Bello Matawalle didn’t make that donation public because he didn’t want people to know that President Bola made that philanthropic stride so as not add more value to his political pyramid and increase his popularity in the state. Who’s the enemy of Mr. President between Aminu Sani Jaji and Bello Matawalle?
Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji won, in his constituency, the presidential election, governorship election and National Assembly elections – he’s returned winner and elected member of the National Assembly while Bello Matawalle couldn’t win his election, that of the president and two of the Houses of assembly elections in his constituency. How can someone who couldn’t win this to claim that he masterminded the victory of presidential election?
The minister of State, defence Bello Matawalle is known to be a sadist, and so long he’s closed to the power, he would not allow the state to live in peace, politically. That’s his nature and political tradition. We are aware that Bello Matawalle has been going helter skelter to make sure that no any politician in Zamfara state gets federal appointment because of his political aggrandisement. Anyone who’s pencilled down for political appointment, he would do everything possible to make sure he didn’t get it. That’s why uptil now, no one from Zamfara state has been given any meaningful political appointment – he wants only his name in the federal political appointment register.
For the record, Aminu Sani Jaji has been with the President before and after. He isn’t supporting Bola Tinubu because of appointment, just like Bello Matawalle, and that’s why he made sure Bola Tinubu got the highest votes in Zamfara state and eventually won the election. Such allegations is only coming from a sheep in a wolf cloth and would not change the narration. Bello Matawalle should face his challenges and leave Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji to continue what’s elected for.
And for Bello Matawalle’s information, this is just a tip of the iceberg. If he dares us and continues to make baseless and concocted allegations in other to tarnish the reputation and good character of Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji, we would have no option than to open our Pandora’s box on him, because we have all his dossiers in our possession.
A word is enough for the wise!
