Hon Hamidu, Adamawa Mubi South Council Chair suspended over gross financial misconduct

Hon Hamidu Adamu Jingi Dirbishi, Council Chairman of Mubi South Local Government was suspended by Eight Councillors.

In their plenary sitting at the council chambers the councillors said they are suspending Adamu over gross financial misconduct and incompetence.

The Legislative Council Impeached the Chairman, Dirbishi And sworn in Hon Auwal Haruna to serve the council on Acting capacity.

According to them the impeachment followed all constitutional provision and so slammed Dirbishi the adder of the suspension.

The councillor representing Dirbishi ward, Patrick T Bello however said the impeachment is null and void because they do not constitute the two third majority to do that.

According to him they are ten in number and five said yes and five said nay.

“It is not done this way, by the guiding rules of the house five council members does not form the majority of impeaching an elected chairman.

“So their impeachment is null and void and does meet the constitutional requirements. So Hon Adamu is still our Chairman.” Patrick said
