The member representing Yola South Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Kabiru Mijinyawa, has presented tricycles, motorcycles, refrigerators and cash to seven hundred and seventy five Constituents people of his constituency.
Speaking during the programme at Wetland Parks and Garden Yola, Thursday, Kabiru Mijinyawa said his empowerment programme, which gulped millions of naira, has touched many members of his constituency, cutting across the eleven electoral wards of Yola South.
The lawmaker said, the empowerment programme is part of his contribution to the development of his constituency in other to alleviate the suffering of his people and to complement efforts of the present administration in meeting the yearnings of the electorate.
Mijinyawa who was the former Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly from twenty fifteen to twenty nineteen, said he has sponsored hundreds of his Constituents on various skill acquisition programmes that would help them to be self reliant.
He revealed that, so far he construct and equipped clinics in four in three political wards which include, Bole Yolde Pate,Mbamba and Adarawo, adding that he will provide medicines to all the clinics.
He also commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for granting the approval of Constituency project to the members of the seventh Assembly adding that, he will continue to lobby for more development Programmes from the government to the people of his Constituency.
Earlier in his address the All Progressives Congress APC Chairman Yola South Local Government Alhaji Suleiman Adamu, said the Kabiru Mijinyawa has justify the confidence reposed in him during his re-election by providing his people with basic amenities.
Addressing the gathering on behalf Yola South stakeholders, Alhaji Idris Baba Attah described the lawmaker is a man with the interest of his Constituents at heart and urged him to maintain the temporary.
On his part the Senior Legislative aid on Media and Public Affairs Alhaji Hussaini Ahmadu Har charged the beneficiaries to use what they have received in boosting their businesses and urged those did not benefited to be Patience as plans are under way for another batch of the empowerment.
In his vote of thanks the administrator Yola West development area Malam Habu Ali thanked the lawmaker for coming up with the laudable gesture described it as timely considering the hardship faced by the people especially during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Speaking separately, representives of the beneficiaries from various groups appreciated Kabiru Mijinyawa for his kind gesture, promising that they will utilize it judiciously.
State Assembly correspondent reports that beneficiaries of the empowerment include, Youth, Women, political pressure groups, Party executives All Progressives Congress APC, the aged, widows and petty traders who went home with cash support.
