In a strongly worded opinion piece, staunch supporter of Hon. Dr. Zakaria Dauda Nyampa, Mr. Emmanuel Philip Tumba, has described the lawmaker’s legislative push for the establishment of the Federal University of Solid Minerals in Michika as one of the strongest proofs of visionary and effective representation in Madagali/Michika Federal Constituency.

Tumba declared that the bill represents far more than a mere political statement.

“This is far more than a political statement. The bill has already passed second reading and successfully undergone public hearing with impressive stakeholder endorsement. These milestones clearly reflect Hon. Nyampa’s legislative competence, strategic networking, and commitment to the long-term development of his constituency,” he said.

Tumba highlighted the significance of the achievement, noting that Hon. Nyampa vigorously pursued and advanced this transformative bill while serving as a member of the opposition PDP.

“What stands out even more is that he vigorously pursued and advanced this transformative bill while serving as a member of the opposition PDP. His ability to push such a major project across party lines demonstrates political maturity and a genuine focus on constituency needs above partisan considerations,” Tumba added.

The public affairs analyst expressed strong confidence in the potential of Hon. Nyampa if given renewed mandate with better political alignment.

“I strongly believe that if Hon. Dr. Zakaria Dauda Nyampa is re-elected with stronger alignment to the ruling APC, enhanced national influence, and possibly elevated to key leadership positions such as House Committee Chairman, Deputy Speaker, or Speaker, the prospects for this university and other developmental bills will become even brighter and faster to achieve,” he stated.

Tumba emphasised the profound impact the proposed university could have on the constituency, saying it has the potential to fundamentally transform the socio-economic landscape of Madagali and Michika.

According to him, the institution will bring lasting federal presence, create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, stimulate local businesses, attract private investments, and drive major infrastructure development.

He added that the university will open new horizons for the youth, reduce the need for young people to travel far for quality tertiary education, and lay a foundation for generational prosperity.

Concluding his opinion, Philip Tumba stressed the importance of continuity in leadership.

“Madagali/Michika has moved past the era of trial-and-error leadership. What the constituency needs now is continuity, experience, and proven strategic representation.

Hon. Nyampa has already laid a solid foundation. Supporting his return will consolidate these gains and unlock even greater opportunities for our people.

The journey toward a brighter future has begun. It is now time for the good people of Madagali/Michika to rally behind a leader whose vision is clear, whose efforts are delivering results, and whose representation continues to place our constituency on the national map,” he concluded.
