Member Representing Song Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Simon Isa, has pledged his determination to providing dynamic, equitable and purposeful representation at the house.
According to him, his topmost priority is to provide his constituents with quality stewardship through the enactment of people oriented legislations and raising matters of public concern on issues bothering the wellbeing of his people.
Hon. Simon, who made the pledge while receiving Yungur Journalists in Adamawa led by Mr Kemuel Gangari, our reporter who paid him a courtesy visit in his office Tuesday afternoon.
He declared that as an old timer, he would bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new assignment, saying he would strive hard towards ensuring that the opinion and voices of the people of Song, are heard during his tenure.
He tasked on the journalists to create awareness in the society for people to know the primary functions of a legislator, and promised to lobby towards ensuring that whatever belongs to Song constituency is given to it.
The legislator said that his main duty at the house is not execute developmental projects but to make laws, and however explained that lawmakers can complement the effort of the executive arm in embarking on the execution of projects whenever they are given constituency allowances.
He made a passionate appeal to all citizens in his constituency to bury their political, religious or tribal differences and live in peace for the unity and progress of the constituency, saying nothing meaningful would be achieved in a chaotic situation.
He called on the youths not to remain idle but engage themselves in productive ventures to make them become self reliant in the society, and appreciated them for their support.
He used the forum and commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Secretary of the PDP, Abdullahi Adamu Prambe, and other stakeholders in and around Song for their timely intervention in the recent attack that claimed lives in Prambe.
Hon. Simon Isa, further condoled Yungur community over the death of the Chairman Yungur Development Association (YADA) Mr Titus Gaudo.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation, Mr Lemuel Gangari, told the member that the reason behind the visit was to congratulate him for his reelection and successful inauguration.
He called on him to work hard so as to justify the confidence reposed in him by his electorates, and appreciated him for the time given to them to visit him.
