Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Bayo Ojulari, has allegedly been forced to sign a resignation letter, Peoples Gazette has reported.
Peoples Gazette in its report on Saturday, claimed that the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede and the Director General of the Department of State Services, Adeola Ajayi, apprehended Ojulari on Friday and compelled him to sign a resignation letter.
Quoting sources, Peoples Gazette reported that the alleged incident occurred on Friday.
It reported that Ojulari was grilled about what he might know of a British-Nigerian oil businesswoman, Olatimbo Ayinde, who has recently emerged as one of the most powerful forces steering the Tinubu administration.
“Mr Ojulari told us he didn’t know Olatimbo Ayinde,” the source, who preferred anonymity, told Peoples Gazette.
EFCC spokesman, Dele Oyewale, couldn’t be reached for reaction to the story.
As of the time of filing this report, Ojulari had yet to issue any statement about the development.
Recently, NNPCL cried out over alleged sabotage of the state-owned oil firm’s leadership.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu appointed Ojulari NNPCL’s GCEO in April 2025.
