In a remarkable display of leadership and commitment to unity, the paramount ruler of Demsa local government area of Adamawa State, His Majesty Hama Batta Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke, has reaffirmed his dedication to treating all ethnic groups and adherents of different faiths equally without segregation. This pledge was made during a courtesy call by the steering committee of the recently concluded Adamawa State Quranic Recitation Competition, tagged “DEMSA 2024”, at his palace in Demsa.

Hama Batta emphasized that his forefathers had always cohabited peacefully with Muslims, Christians, and idol worshippers, and he intends to sustain this posture to ensure peace and development thrive across the Batta Chiefdom. He also highlighted that hosting the 39th Edition of the Adamawa State Quranic Recitation Competition at his palace was a testament to his commitment to unity and peaceful coexistence.
The Royal Father further stated that a recent unguarded utterance by an Islamic teacher from Bauchi would not distract him from treating Muslims equally with their Christian counterparts in his domain. Instead, the utterance has served as a morale booster for him to continue rendering good leadership devoid of discrimination.
His efforts to promote peaceful coexistence and gender inclusion have also been recognized and applauded
