I am optimistic, PMB will not allow Ibi Bridge project to be abandoned- Prof. Rabo

An appeal have been made to President Mohammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency hesting the ongoing construction of Ibi bridge in Taraba State, North East Nigeria.

The newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Wukari, Professor Jude Sammani Rabo made the appeal while speaking with journalists shortly after taking over the affairs of the University from the outgone Vice Chancellor, Professor Abubakar Gundiri.

His words: “The construction of this bridge is very important, for it serves as short cut to the University. Students from Abuja, Nassarawa, Plateau and Bauchi States ong others would find it easier to the University, Even Staff that are required for Visiting or Sabatical can easily come to the Institution because we need their services and it will increase the population of students in between two to three years.

“I learned that the bridge was stopped in previous years, but i urged all including the journalists to join me in Prayers so that the bridge will be constructed and put to use to support the University.

On host community, the VC promised to set up a relationship committee for smooth interactions with the community even once a year with a view to
share ideas on way forward.

Professor Jude Sammani Rabo also explained that he would give priority to completion of the ongoing projects such as buildings as well as beautification of the campus environment to avoid decay and wasting of resources.

“I will also ensure that all Programs of the University are accredited in the fourth coming accreditation, because soon, the National Universities Commission would visit the University for inspection of it’s Programs for possible accreditation as the immediate past VC had said.

Rabo however, disclosed that his desire for the University is to see that it enjoy full accreditation and all staff are paid their outstanding salaries by March ending.

“I want to see this University growing rapidly, i want to attain a global competitiveness but i also need need support and prayers from host community, because without their cooperation i will not succeed,

“I understand that this place is violent. I need prayers from all to enable me succeed – said Prof. Jude Rabo.
