Adamawa State governor, Senator Muhammad Umar Jibrilla Bindow has reiterated that he has never borrowed a dime from any bank to execute his capital projects.
Bindow stated that the reason behind his many laudable capital projects in the State is his ability to successfully manage the very little resources at his disposal for better allocation and use.
The governor made this remark while receiving a group of former State lawmakers from 1979 to 2015 on a courtesy visit led by Ambassador James Barka at the State government house, Yola, yesterday.
“With wise and judicious management of funds, any administrator can use N1bn for what some other adminsitrator will use N5bn for. It all boils down to sagacious management of funds”.
“I inherited an empty treasury when I came on board with a huge backlog of unpaid salaries, but that did not deter me from my focus. The first thing I tried to do was clear the owed salaries to show how important civil servants are to my administration”, Bindow explained.
He further identified infrastructural development as his number priority, which has resulted in the construction of over 80 roads in 16 months.
“Infrastructural development is key to the progress of a State like Adamawa, that is why we are planning to move to Numan for better sight of the ongoing constructions there and yo may have to meet me there when next you come visiting”.
While thanking the people of Adamawa for their continued support and cooperation, the governor emphasised his willingness to serve them better devoid of any political misguidance.
” I am here to serve the people of Adamawa State and I will continue to do so throughout my tenure. They are my bosses, so I dont take orders from anybody. I work for them”, he concluded.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation, Ambassador James Barka said it was their collective decision to come and associate themselves with the success story of Governor Bindow.
“For someone coming from the business world, not a trade politician, we can’t help but marvel at how well Governor Bindow has done in the State considering the very little resources at his disposal”.
Barka further lauds Bindow’s saving mechanism and plead with the governor to continue his good work in the State.
