Engr Hussaini Sulaiman Tahir in a statement while addressing hundreds of Action Alliance (AA) Party members and his supporters in Yola said is going turn Adamawa State into economy viable state if given the mandate in the coming governorship polls.
Tahir said that Adamawa state have over thirty four unharnessed mineral resources that because of bad leadership they have failed to utilize it.
He said he will use both the human and mineral resources like Mercury, Diamond, Topaz, Silica and many others that God has blessed the state with to create a new Adamawa State.
He told the mammoth crowd that his wealth of experience as an Engineer haven work for over 35 years in the defunct Gongola state before joining the NNPC will make utilize the agrarian nature of state with massive land to make an agro-based industries that will attract many investors.
“All we need is a purposeful government that shall empower our farmers, pastoralist, fishermen and poultry producers. Agriculture and a sound agricultural policy can eliminate poverty and negative vices in our state.
“We can also create dams and artificial water resources for our nomads and fishermen. We can lift waters from such dams to our needy communities for domestic’s purpose.” Tahir said
He worried that despite having one of the biggest rivers in the country as a blessing yet there is no portable drinking water for the people of Adamawa state.
Tahir appealed all votes from eligible voters who have their voters card to exercise their voting right in the coming governorship election to make a better Adamawa state than what it is now.
He continued to said that :
“I have only dwelt on mineral resources and Agriculture. I shall soon unfold to you my agenda on Education, Health , Housing, Roads, Electrification, Employment, security, people living with Disabilities, pensioners, Youth and Women shall all be surprised that we have the means to develop the state. All we need is right persons and policies .
“I’m telling you in confidence that I can do it. I have done and I shall do it again. Please give me the mandate. Tahir assured
He said water is the major source of wealth and he will use the River in the state that connect with River Benue to explore the millions of cubic barrels to build a very strong industrial and commercial venture, especially renewable energy .
