The Benin Community in Abuja has elected Mr Dicson Omoregie, the Country Representative of the German based Institute for Cultural Diplomacy ICD as their president.
The BCA in it unanimous decision during its end of the year general meeting chose Omorogie to pilot the affairs of the union for the period of four years.
While delivering his acceptance speech after the election in Abuja, Omoregie thanked the out gone President Chief Osazuwa Imasuen (MON) for the achievements so far and promised to continue with the good works he started.
He enjoined all members to be law abiding and to live in peace with all their neighbours irrespective of ethno religious affiliations.
He added that a website will be reactivated and lines will soon be published for any Edo indigene in Abuja to call in case of abuses, denial of rights, as well as those experiencing marginalization.
He advised Edo indigenes to portray their cultural values inherent in them and be a true representative of the Binis where ever they found themselves.
The New President encouraged the Executive members to take the task of piloting the affairs of the association with upmost sense of responsibility and to bring their wealth of experience to move the association forward.
The President then used the opportunity to congratulate the Monarch the Omo Noba Nedo Uku Akpolokpolor the Oba of Benin and pray that his Reign be Peace full and bring blessings to the land and wish all Edo Sons and Daughters Happy Chrismass and the New year celebrations.
