The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem, has been impeached.
His impeachment on Monday came following alleged gross misconduct and abuse of office.
His removal was validated with a unanimous decision of 19 members out of 27 lawmakers in a letter read on the floor of the house.
Following his impeachment, Kenedy Ibeh, a House member representing Obowo State Constituency, was sworn in as the new Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly.
