The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Sa’adu Zungur University (SAZU) in Bauchi has declared an indefinite strike action. This decision was made during an emergency congress held at the university’s Yuli Campus, where the union expressed frustration over the university administration and government’s lack of commitment to addressing their demands.
The union has exhausted all avenues in seeking better conditions of service from the university management
According to ASUU Chairperson, SAZU branch, Comrade Awwal Hussain Nuhu, the union has exhausted all avenues in seeking better conditions of service from the university management. Nuhu stated that despite multiple efforts, the administration has shown no willingness to attend to their demands.
The strike, which commenced on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 12:00 pm, directs all ASUU members at SAZU to comply. All academic activities, including teaching, marking, meetings, accreditation, and other related activities, have been suspended indefinitely.
