Independence Day celebration was never thought would register any mourning as the morning prayer Tuesday was observed peacefully at Lakare an outskirt community of Shagari lowcost,Yola South LGA of Adamawa state.
Gunmen who are suspected to be kidnappers raided the community and killed 4 people,injured one during the 1st october celebration.
There was the sound of gunshots from Lakare area as were heard by the people living in the neighbouring Shagari quarters while evening prayer was being observed.
Information made available to Tgnews reveal that the suspected kidnappers were said to be after the leadership of a Fulani group residing in Lakare.
The resistance of the Fulani leader to be abducted led to his death and three others some of whom died as they were being taken to the Federal Medical Centre FMC Yola. One of the casualties of gunshots is said to be groaning in pains while receiving medical attention in the health facility.
The afternoon showered a fresh air in the area known for tree growing and peaceful coexistence.
