As the September 21 governorship election draws near, the former governor of Edo State and sitting Senator, Adams Oshiomhole has been challenged to prove his allegations of witches and wizards dominating Ewohinmi, a community in Edo State.
The indigenes of Ewohinmi under the aegis of Ewohinmi Development Union have therefore threatened Oshiomhole with a libel suit if he doesn’t apologise and withdraw the statement.
The union said as a respected elder in Edo State, Oshiomhole should mind his utterances and stop making oral-diarrhea induced commentaries.
“It is not because of politics you tag a whole community as consisting of witches and wizards. No! It’s not fair and we are asking him to prove that,” the community said.
The union therefore warned Oshiomhole to immediately apologize and withdraw the allegations, “otherwise we have no option but to go to court and demand that he proves that Ewohinmi citizens are witches and wizards.”
The union therefore challenged Oshiomhole to produce the witches and wizards he claimed are in Ewohinmi.
It will be recalled that Oshiomhole in one of his political utterances alleged that Ewohinmi is inhabited by occultists, witches and wizards who would not matter in any given election, not even the September 21 governorship election.
Oshiomhole had accused the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo that he is not a grassroot person as he refused to sleep in his village because “village people are witches and wizards”.
