Tabital Pulaaku International (TPI),a Fulani’s socio-cultural organisation,Adamawa state chapter has frown at a public statement credited to Senator Representing Adamawa South Senatorial District,Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe accusing Fulani elites of aiding and abetting in criminality.
The organisation in a press release issued in Yola weekend described Senator Yaroe’s claim not “a hate speech narrative and merely unguarded but grossly unbecoming of a person of his calibre” noting that no one chose his tribe,faith or birthplace rather divinely ordained by the creator.
In the release signed by Dr.Murtala Aliyu and Dr.Ahmed Shehu,Chairman and Secretary,the organisation rejected ascribing kidnapping as a sole venture of the Fulani stock berating the Senator of being reckless and unwarranted.
“Therefore TPL rejects in its entirety all the principles,motives,unedited conclusions in ethnic profiling which have grown to become a country wide past time in Nigeria
It further observed with dismay that instead of him to be a unifying factor to his diverse constituents including the fulbe as a legislator at this crucial and critical time but he is busy chasing shadows calling on him to be in his right senses as a leader.
“It is exceedingly ironic that a beneficiary of Fulbe hospitality like Senator Binos Dauda Yaroe could demonstrate such magnitude of ingratitude to the fingers which actually fed him.
“We are roundly disappointed that a leader like Senator Yaroe could easily stoop so low as he did,blatantly,brazenly and openly offending the sensitivity of the vital constituents of his Senatorial district,the Fulbe.
“It is equally unfortunate that this is happening at a time when our dear Senator should have been focusing his attention on development issues and projects that would benefit his people including the Fulbe whom he represents but rather chosen to disparage.
“TPL demands an unreserved apology from Senator Yaroe for disparaging our people and for the public pain and ridicule which his unfortunate statements have caused our Fulbe brethren around the world,under the distinguished leadership of Lamido Fombina,it’s global grand patron”.the group demanded.
It could be recalled that,Senator Yaroe while addressing his constituents at a town hall meeting in Demsa local government Area recently alleged that the Fulbe (Fulani) elites are responsible for arming their wayward kinsmen among pastoralists and causing insecurity in the country.
