Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku has assured the people of the state that the problem of insecurity was being tackled with greater zeal and determination to make farming and travelling safe in all parts of the state.
Ishaku gave the assurance when a high-powered delegation from Gassol Local Government Area of the state paid him a thank you visit on Monday in Jalingo.
The delegation led by the Chief of Mutum-Biyu, Alhaji Sani Suleiman Duna came to thank the Governor for the provision of electricity and other amenities to parts of the Local Government Area.
Our Correspondent reports that, the visit was also to thank Ishaku for the appointment of sons and daughters of the area into key Government positions including the Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu as one of such appointees.
Governor Darius Ishaku, also used the occasion to urged traditional rulers in the state to assist the government in tackling the insecurity problem in the state.
He advised them to be conscious about happenings within their domains and to report suspicious visitors to security agencies before such visitors cause harm in their communities.
The Governor expressed happiness that the people remembered to come and express appreciation, noting that not many people remember to show appreciation for the good done to them.
He however, urged people of the state to take control of amenities provided them by the Government and protect them against vandalisation and mismanagement.
Earlier, the Chief of Mutum-Biyu, Alhaji Sani Suleiman Duna pledged the support of his people for the State Government’s projects and programmes to enable them benefit from the success of such policies.
Royal Father, requested for the Taraba state government to help tackle insecurity in the state which according to him has crippled farming and made travelling a big risk for the people.
