Gombe State commissioner for Health, Dr. Habu Dahiru had described the initiative that set up the state’s Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GOHealth) as remarkable.

Speaking at the first stakeholders workshop jointly organised by the Development Governance International (DGI) and the state Ministry of Health, Dahiru assured stakeholders of Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s commitment to Universal Health Coverage for all in the state.
The Commissioner urged the team to brainstorm and review with the consultants to develope a working paper for the scheme state’s endorsement.
On the journey so far, he appreciated the governor for signing the bill enabling the Agency in December 2019.
He recalled that the governor also constituted a five-man technical working group to midwife the process to which DGI were instrumental to the design of the State Contributory Scheme.
“This design has catapulted the state’s Agency ahead of so many other states that started long before her,” he said.
