Kuwait’s Ministry of Defence has announced that several United States military aircraft crashed within the country on Monday.
The development was disclosed by the Kuwait News Agency in a post on X, citing a statement from the Defence Ministry.
According to the statement, all crew members aboard the aircraft survived the incident, while Kuwaiti authorities are assisting with rescue and response operations.
“Ministry of Defence announces that several #US military aircraft crashed earlier in the day, confirming that all crew members survived the incident,” the post stated.
The exact number of aircraft involved and the cause of the crashes were not immediately disclosed.
The incident comes a day after Iran reportedly struck a US military base in Kuwait in retaliation for joint airstrikes carried out by Israel and the United States on Iranian targets.
Other countries said to have been affected by Iranian missile attacks targeting US bases and facilities in the region include Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
