Israel Slams Amnesty Report as “Entirely False”

Israel has vehemently denied accusations of committing genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, labeling a recent Amnesty International report as “entirely false” and “based on lies.”

The Israeli foreign ministry countered that it was Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack on Israel that was truly “genocidal.” Israel maintains that it is defending itself in accordance with international law.

The conflict, sparked by Hamas’s attack, has resulted in significant loss of life, with 1,208 people killed, mostly civilians, and over 44,000 people killed in Israel’s retaliatory campaign

In contrast, Amnesty International’s report asserts that Israel’s actions in Gaza constitute genocide, citing dehumanizing statements from Israeli officials, satellite images of devastation, and firsthand accounts from Gazans. The report urges the international community to take action and demands that states cease transferring weapons to Israel.
