Before I was given admission to the Rome Business School to take a Master’s degree in Political Marketing I had a 15 minutes interview with a staff representative. The questions were bothered on what is it that is done in the political communication space of Nigerian and what I think I would do differently. Without thinking twice I said unequivocally that slander, hate and abusive language had over the years dominated the political space of Nigeria and I would be committed as an expert to make some difference.
In Nigeria Some use ethnicity others religion and many tell lies about their opponents in order to discredit and gain access to the electorates. I know this is true, and many wrecking tools are being employed to do the dirty service.
What I am writing about today is not a genernal comment on the use decent and courteous language in canvassing for votes but to be specific on the unkind reportage in some quarters about the existence of a fake Buhari in the Aso Rock.
First, for those who know me, I have never been pro-Buhari and I won’t be. My reasons remaining the same that my President should be more than just a personality of thoughts but a real Democrat who over the years has proven that he is able to manage the affairs governance well. Not in terms of being upright only but also to have the ideas to that will and workable framework to make people rally round and bring results. I did not accept what President Buhari says he stands for as ideological enough. This is absolutely my view.
But, when President Muhammadu Buhari became President I considered him as my own President because in democracy majority will always have their way; and I believe whoever is elected is elected for all, including the opposition.
When I read about the stories making round that the President was replaced months ago by one Jibrin from Sudan I waved aside the story. But of recent the matter is being over heated and some innocent people are begging for answers. I have heard people who shared the story to others as a reality. This is a big hoax!
I am not saying this because I have superior evidence to prove that Buhari was not replaced but simply based on the fact that even those who said he was replaced did not give scientific explaination to how that was possible.
Without underestimating what Nigerians in power can do, I will rather be the one left not than believing that they have changed my president. Also not to underrate science I still don’t see that it is possible to bring one adult and change him with another and successfully make the later function like the former. I can’t accept that just like that!
The President was sick, yes very sick. As usual they covered everything thing about it to Nigeria and Nigrians, (which was very wrong of them to do) he attested to the fact that he was never sick like that before in his entire life. But to say that he was replaced it’s too far a joke and a disservice to us and insult on our nationhood.
Let me finally say that this is not Political campaign but a national disgrace if all we can do to is tell the world that the person sitting in Aso Rock is not the person that was voted in in 2015 with majority vote but a total stranger from another country being left to handle our national affairs.
Those who subscribe to this should be able to go ahead and prove it and Nigrians will walk to the Villa and remove the foreigner and send him back to Sudan on foot.
