A senatorial candidate of the Alliance National Party (ANP), hopeful to represent the people of Adamawa Central senatorial zone, Engr Salihu Garba Mama Aliyu is out to rescue the jobless Youths of the zone with a pet project programme under the SAGMA Youth empowerment.
Salihu a Young retiree of NNPC as a software developer said there are lots of untapped opportunities that modern technology in computer has it that’s not being properly harness. Targeting about twenty Youths,two from each LGAs of his constituency to empower them with a training on solar system designs and installation, computer software development and general programming.
According to him it’s through solving problem that you create wealth and his non political NGO,Salihu Garba Mama Aliyu (SAGMA) Youths Enpowerment Initiatives is posed to create wealth for nation building
and to reduce high rate of hooligans, thuggery,restiveness and crimes caused by youths as a result of joblessness.
He revealed that SAGMA is embarking on the nomination of suitable and qualified Adamawa youths from the age of 18-45 for a stage one 3-days weekend workshop on solar systems design and installations (on-grid and off-grid).
“The solar system train the trainers will be the stage 1 out of the 3 proposed stages of expertise in the solar system mastery workshop. Stages 2 and 3 are proposed to be hosted in Lagos and in South Africa or China.” He said
While recounting his days in NNPC, the first class graduate of computer Engineering in Greenwich university London Said he designed a system that manage the direct supply of crude oil and direct purchase of petroleum product (DSDP) that saved over one billion US dollar,and it help the country to no longer pay money for subsidy.
According to him the country use to pay oil subsidy running to trillions of naira but the feat he achieved by creating the system that now save huge amount of money,he trained Adamawa youths that can automate the system end-to- end and achieve the same result than hire foreign companies
Garba who initially believe in the All Progressives Congress, APC,to be a party of political sound ideology but drifted along the way left with no choice than to join the ANP as demanded by his constituents.
He reiterated that his laws,bills and resolutions are purely going to be masses inclined he God will him the opportunity to be the next senator of his district.
