Japan to partner Adamawa in the area of community development

The Government of Japan and Adamawa Government under the leadership of Senator Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow are to partner in the area of communities self sustainers through agriculture.

The Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yukuka Kikuta, who made the assurance in Government House Yola during a courtesy call, said Japan will continue to assist communities in Adamawa State to be self sustaining while complimenting government effort in rebuilding ravaged communities from activities of insurgents.

Ambassador Yukuka explained that nine thousand other households in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states will benefit from seventeen million dollar grant.

He said his visit to the state was to distribute some agricultural inputs and solar powered panels in Loko, Song local government area, adding that the effort was to ensure stability as well as empowerment for residents.

Responding, Governor Mohammed Umar Jibrilla appreciated the gesture by the Japanese government.

According to him, the state government is working in critical areas to improve on the lot of the people. He described the intervention as timely.

Making a brief presentation, Secretary to the State Government, Dr Umar Buba Bindir said the state is faced with challenges that require intervention such as the one offered by the Japanese government.

Meanwhile Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla has condoled the family of the Member Representing Song Fufore at the House of Representatives, Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin, over the demise of his mother, Halima Ibrahim Doti, who died at the age of eighty two after a brief illness in Yola.

The governor, who was received by the law maker said, “death is inevitable” and urged the family to see death as an act of God.

Similarly, Governor Jibrilla was also at the residence of Umaru Bakari, his Special Adviser on Finance and Budget, who also lost his mother.f community development.
