Jeff Bezos, the outgoing Amazon Chief Executive Officer, is back as the world’s richest person, bringing Elon Musk’s reign to an end after six weeks.

This changing of the guard happened even though the duo billionaires’ fortunes shrank on Tuesday as their respective companies’ stock prices slipped.

Musk lost about $4.5 billion on Tuesday after Tesla (TSLA) shares fell 2.4 percent, which kicked him to second place on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index ranking.

Jeff’s net worth also went down as the broader stock market lost a bit but his loss was not much, only taking a hit of about $372 million.

The outgoing amazon CEO is currently worth $191 billion why Musk is worth $190 billion.

Musk became the richest person, in early January, when Tesla’s stock was skyrocketing.

Jeff had a robust 2020, too. His stake in the company increased from $75 billion in 2020 to $173.3 billion. He stated that the huge increase in sales was driven by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Earlier this month, he had announced that he was stepping down from the CEO role and would take the role of an executive chair later this year.

However, Bill Gates is still the world’s third-richest with $137 billion of worth.
