Jigawa State Government Uncovers Massive Corruption, Identifies 6,348 Ghost Workers

In a shocking revelation, the Jigawa State Government has discovered 6,348 ghost workers on its payroll, resulting in a massive monthly saving of N314,657,342.06 and a whopping annual saving of N3,775,888,809.72. This staggering discovery was made possible through the Statewide Staff Audit Biometric Data Capture and Validation Exercise.

According to Hon. Sagir Musa, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, the audit was initiated to clean up the payroll system and ensure timely payment of salaries and entitlements. The exercise was not intended to target workers but rather to eliminate corruption and fraudulent activities.

The Jigawa State Government had previously enrolled its employees into the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Management System (IPPMS) to facilitate the audit process. The state Executive Council has also approved the establishment of a Continuous Capture Centre (CCC) at the Office of the Head of Civil Service to finalize the audit exercise.
