The National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Yola, the Adamawa State Capital has dismissed a petition filed by Abubakar Magaji Jaafar challenging the election of Jingi Rufai, the incumbent Member representing Mubi North, Mubi South and Maiha federal constituency in the House of Representatives.
Abubakar Magaji Jaafar had on the 17th March, 2023 instituted the petition, alleging that Jingi was not duly elected by majority of the lawful votes cast during the election held on the 25th February, 2023.
He prayed the tribunal to set aside the certificate of return issued to Jingi by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Jaafar in the petition asked the Tribunal to quash and issued him certificate of return having scored the majority of lawful votes cast.
Efforts to hear Jafaar response over the judgment as to wether he will appeal or not was not possible because his hours our correspondent in Yola tried his phone was showing is in another call.
He tried on severally times to reach him his line was saying not reachable.
