Former President Goodluck Jonathan has praised ex-military president Ibrahim Babangida for launching his memoir, ‘A Journey in Service’, saying that Nigeria’s history is incomplete without Babangida’s story. Jonathan made this statement in Abuja on Thursday during the launch of Babangida’s book, which also marked the opening of his presidential library.

He described Babangida as one of the most charismatic leaders in the country, who has contributed significantly to Nigeria’s infrastructure development and social mobilization. Jonathan also called on the Federal Government to assist in the management of presidential libraries, emphasizing their importance as a source of history for scholars.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including President Bola Tinubu, former presidents Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalami Abubakar, and former Ghanaian president John Mahama.

Jonathan thanked Babangida for launching the presidential library and encouraged other leaders, especially ex-presidents, to follow suit, as this would aid in the better documentation of Nigeria’s history.
