Barrister Dan-Adi, legal counsel to HRH Hon. Justice Emmanuel Dodo Audu (Rtd), has insisted that Justice Dodo remains the Tii of Ichen Kurmi, Kurmi Local Government Area of Taraba State. This statement comes in response to a recent call by a group of Ichen kingmakers and council members for the state government to allow them to select a new Tii.
In an interview with newsmen in Jalingo on Friday, Barrister Dan-Adi emphasized that Justice Dodo’s position as the Paramount ruler of Ichen people remains valid and legal, despite ongoing court cases.
He clarified that the stool has not been vacant since Justice Dodo’s appointment, installation, and coronation.
Barrister Dan-Adi advised the Ichen people to unite and cooperate with Justice Dodo and the state government to bring development to the area.

He also cautioned the group pursuing legal action to follow due process and avoid media trials, which could violate judicial process and legal ethics.
The legal counsel reminded that there are two appeals pending at the Court of Appeal, Yola Division, and parties should maintain the status quo until the court’s determination.
He urged parties to avoid misleading information and prejudicial actions, instead cooperating with the monarch and government to sustain peace in the community.
