JUWON Drags Osun Lawyer to NBA Over Alleged Forgery, Professional Misconduct, Court Deceit and Property Destruction

In a development observers describe as a classic case of robbing Peter to pay Paul, the Judiciary Watch of Nigeria (JUWON) has petitioned the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to investigate lawyer Mr. Muyideen Adeoye Galadima for alleged land title forgery, professional misconduct, abuse of judicial processes, and related offences.

In a petition dated February 10, 2026, addressed to the National President of the NBA, JUWON accused Mr. Galadima of forging a land title document originally belonging to a now-deceased lawyer, Barrister Tunji Abolade, and fraudulently using it to advance the interests of his clients.

The group described the alleged conduct as highly unethical, fraudulent, and grossly unbecoming of a legal practitioner, branding Mr. Galadima a serial forger and pathological liar.

JUWON claimed that Mr. Galadima boldly tendered the disputed document in Suit No. FHC/OS/CS/23/2026 before a Federal High Court, purportedly seeking to obtain justice “through the back door” regarding ownership of a vast expanse of land.

This action allegedly defied a subsisting 1997 judgment of the Osun State High Court, delivered on February 26, 1997, which affirmed the late Madam Sinatu Adeoye as the genuine owner of the land.

The disputed areas include Powerline Area, Omidiran Garden, Iyana Camp, Biket Junction Area, and Ifesowapo Community—all along the Osogbo–Ikirun Road and sharing boundaries with Bidire family land in Osogbo. JUWON noted that the judgment debtor never appealed the ruling in over 28 years, effectively accepting the verdict.

Further escalating the matter, JUWON alleged that Mr. Galadima instigated the wilful destruction of a warehouse under construction on the judgment creditor’s land. Emboldened by the purportedly forged document, his clients reportedly mobilised and demolished the structure on the midnight of February 4, 2026. The warehouse belonged to one of the allottees of the late Madam Sinatu Adeoye.

The group also accused Mr. Galadima of fraudulently converting the late Barrister Tunji Abolade’s Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) dated July 1, 1981, to lay claim to the land on behalf of NIPCO Filling Station (located beside the Federal Road Safety Corps Office, adjacent to Biket Junction along Osogbo–Ikirun Road), the Alare-Iyiolu family, Olugbenga Aro, Latona Olaiya Tajudeen, Waheed Raheem, and others.

While representing NIPCO Filling Station and three others, Mr. Galadima allegedly claimed the late Barrister Tunji Abolade as his client—an assertion JUWON dismissed as a desperate ploy to dispossess the rightful judgment creditors.

When the destruction was reported at the Ota-Efun Divisional Police Station and Zone XI Command Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Osogbo, the police requested Mr. Galadima and his clients to produce their title documents, but they were reportedly evasive.

Through its Deputy National Secretary, Comrade Michael James, JUWON urged the police to conduct a thorough, credible investigation into the alleged forgery and press criminal charges against all involved persons—particularly the lawyer, who is bound by professional ethics to uphold truth and justice.

Comrade James also appealed to the NBA leadership to set up an independent, unbiased panel to probe the allegations, emphasising the need to sanitise the association and safeguard the reputation of the legal profession from disrepute.
